This incredible work in olive wood by Samuel Bugeja was created around 1998.

The inspiration of Samuel to show the mother and baby sprouting from the tree trunk is mesmerising. To still see the actual tree trunk at the base of this sculpture is something that takes a while to digest. One feels the serenity and gracefulness of this work, the harmony created is difficult to explain in words. The love and tenderness between mother and baby is so forceful and a great interpretation by Samuel Bugeja.
